The Stegosaurus

Did you know the stegosaurus can grow up to 30 feet (9 meters) long? They had heavy bodies but small heads. At the end of the stegosaurus’ tail, there were pairs of spikes to fight off attackers.
Why were there plates on the stegosaurus?
The bony plates on the stegosaurus’ back may have helped it cool down or warm up. It could use its plates to warm up by facing them towards the sun and it could use its plates to cool down by letting the wind blow through them. This cooled the blood down, making the stegosaurus colder.
