The New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies were the first colonies in Northern America. The New England Colonies were made up of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island . The Middle Colonies were made up of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware . The Southern Colonies were made up of Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. These three areas of land would become what we know as The Thirteen Colonies.

The New England Colonies were made up of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. The New England Colonies’ first colony was the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of the religions in the New England Colonies was the Great Awakening, which was created by Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield. It drew Puritans away from cultural practices. This Colony had cold, harsh winters.The main industry in the New England Colonies were fishing, specifically cod. These are facts about The New England Colonies.

The Middle Colonies were made up of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. The Middle Colonies were known as the “Bread Basket.” New York City and Philadelphia were the big cities of trade. The Middle colonies cash crops were wheat and barley. These are facts about the Middle Colonies.

The Southern Colonies were made up of Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. Life in the Southern Colonies either circulated around the plantations or the backcountry. The Southern Colonies had slaves or indentured servants. The cash crops for the Southern Colonies were tobacco, rice, and indigo. These are three facts stated about the Southern Colonies.

The Thirteen Colonies were made up of the New England, Middle, and Southern Colonies. The New England Colonies had bad weather, including cold and harsh winters. The Middle Colonies had a lot of products and had two big trading cities. The Southern Colonies’ inhabitants either circulated around the plantations or the backcountry. The three areas were all owned by the British.
