Kids 12 and older are eligible to get the COVID-19 Pfizer Vaccine

This includes SOME OF US AT CLN!

On May 5, 2021, Health Canada announced that kids aged 12-15 are eligible to get the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. Previously, it was only available to teens 16+, but recently, that has changed.

This vaccine, according to Health Canada’s chief medical adviser Dr. Supriya Sharma, is perfectly safe and effective in this younger age group. It may even be more effective in kids than it is in adults, according to the Pfizer website. It’s actually 100 percent effective, compared to the 95 percent in older age groups.

The times that kids will actually be able to get the vaccine vary from province to province. According to CTVNews, here in Quebec, we have some amazingly good news. Kids aged 12 to 17 will be offered vaccines before the end of June. I. Can’t. Wait!!!!!

Sadly, I won’t be 12 in a long time. Which is really sad, since I want to get the vaccine really soon. Fortunately, there are a number of other members in CLN who are over 12, or who are turning 12 really soon. I’m super excited for them!
