5-1 defeat for the Habs :(

It took the Montreal Canadiens 28 years to make it back to the Stanley Cup finals. On Monday, June 28, 2021, from 8 to 10:30 PM EST, game one took place. Will they win this time?

In this game, the Tampa Bay Lightning team completely obliterated the Habs in a 5-1 victory.

The first goal took place twenty-nine minutes in, shot by Erik Cernak into the Montreal Canadiens’ goal, right past the glove of Carey Price. 1-0 for Tampa.

Just under one hour later, Yanni Gourde hit the puck in mid-air inside the goal, which marked the second goal for the Lightning team. 2-0.

A few minutes after that, Ben Chiarot shot the puck right into Tampa’s goal and managed to score one goal for the Habs, which marked a 2-1.

However, the third and fourth goals for Tampa were scored by Nikita Kucherov. The first one was bumped into the net past Carey Price’s outstretched glove, and the second one went right over his shoulder.

The fifth and final goal was scored by Steven Stamkos, during the power play, with one minute and fifty-five seconds left on the clock. 5-1.
