Curfew in Quebec - 8 PM to 5 AM

Curfew in Quebec - 8 PM to 5 AM - By Felicia

Yesterday, it was announced that we will be having a curfew from now until February. In other words: from 8 PM to 5 AM, it is prohibited to leave your house or yard. Otherwise, you’ll get fined $6000. Nope, I won’t break the COVID rules for that price.

Today, Quebec also set a new record for the number of daily COVID-19 cases: 3,127. Well above 3000, the point where I thought things would start to go terribly wrong. Now, the total amount of positive cases since the start of the pandemic is 226,233.

To date, 75,123 Quebecers have received their first dose of vaccination. This isn’t stopping more people from catching the disease, though.

Montreal remains the pandemic epicentre in Canada reporting 1,531 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, and the island has now surpassed 80,000 total cases since the start of the pandemic with 80,065.
