Everything that might happen

A collaboration by Tay and Lela Star

An Apple Event will be occurring on April 20th, 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET (sadly, I’ll be at school) / 6 p.m. BST and April 21 at 3 a.m. AEST (sorry Australia 😭) where Apple will be unveiling new products! It is also expected to update it’s Ipad Pro, Ipad mini, and Airpods line. Apple sent out press invitations for a virtual event on Tuesday with the tagline “Spring Loaded.” It will be filmed at Apple’s Headquarters; Apple Park in Cupertino California. You can watch the event LIVE on Apple’s website.

During the Apple Event, Apple will be expected to introduce a new and improved iPad Pro, which will probably have an updated processor that is on par with the faster M1 chip in the latest MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini. The iPad Pro will also have an updated LED display, which would be brighter and have improved contrast ratios, upgraded USB-C ports, and better cameras. But it's unclear whether the iPad Pro will get the M1 that recent Macs have used, or a different custom processor, like an A14X. The new Ipad may also feature new AR (augmented reality) sensors on it, just like the 2nd gen. The pricing will probably be the same because of how the 1st and 2nd generation Ipad Pros were $749 USD and $999 USD.

Another rumor is a new Apple Pencil, with maybe a clickable button. I also think this may happen because it was last released almost 3 years ago. Maybe the logo for this event says it?

One more item that might be released with the Ipad Pro and Apple Pencil 3 is a new Magic Keyboard. I love how the Ipad Pro just floats on it. It makes it look very modern and sleek. The Magic Keyboard may feature a microphone which can be useful for video conferencing on the new Ipad.

Airpods 3rd generation might come with a design more in line with its Airpods Pro, along with spatial audio and touch controls.

The 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are really due for a refresh, but not yet. It’s unlikely that we’ll get one in this Apple event, but it potentially could be updated in future events like Apple’s annual September Event where they unveil the new IPhones.

There has been a recent rumor of another Apple OS feature. AirTags. Apple’s long rumored Tile competitor. I have a Tile in my backpack, wallet, and other bags. It is supposed to help you find your items. Samsung beat Apple to this feature though, releasing $40 USD tracking devices called SmartTag devices announced in January. Maybe the “AirTags” name was taken from Samsung. No one knows.

iOS 14 was released a few months ago, along with the new Iphone 12 family back in September, and it was one of the best updates Apple has ever made. In this Apple Event, iOS 14.5 will be released. It’ll have numerous new features such as making it easier to unlock your phone with a mask on, so long as you have an Apple Watch (yay!). Some other features that are coming are new voice options, 247 new emojis (wow that is a lot!), and accents for Siri.

Speaking of the Apple Watch, there are some rumours about new Apple Watch features, such as making it easier to unlock your phone with a mask on. The Watch will give you an alert and haptic feedback to let you know your iPhone has been unlocked. You’ll also get to be able to cast Fitness Plus (which I reviewed here) onto AirPlay 2 devices. At launch, the service was only available to view on an iPhone, an iPad or a newer version of the Apple TV, like I have.
