Hey guys! Since it is summer, I decided to write a brief article on the history of the water balloon. Enjoy!

In 1950, Edgar Ellington tried to invent waterproof socks out of cotton and latex. He filed one with water and checked for holes. When a stream of water gushed out from a small hole, Ellington threw the sock in frustration. The satisfying burst gave him a new idea-water balloons!
